Junipercloud crept softly through the underbrush, paws scraping against the cool earth. His breathing was calm, as was the beating of his heart. Nothing to indicate Junipercloud’s excitement for the hunt, though hidden, was bubbling with joy. Oh, the feeling, alive! Smiling softly to himself, he strained his ears for any indication of prey.
Junipercloud tensed as a tiny rustling of the leaves gave sign of promising prey. He, with a whisper of fur, crouched down, waiting for his prey. The squirrel came chattering through the bushes to itself, gathering a stray piece of fuzz that had escaped its mouth. Your mistake. Bunching up his muscles, Junipercloud gave on mighty leap onto his doomed prey. Catching it with his massive paws, Junipercloud gave a moment to savor the tiny heartbeat fluttering in the creature below him. He ended it there.
Satisfied that he had a good catch, the silver-striped tom began to pick up the squirrel with a firm bite. That is, until his sensitive ears caught the distinct rustling of a cat running through the underbrush, one he was well familiar with…

Featherfoot rushed up beside him. "Junipercloud, I found you!" She stopped to catch her breath. "Shadowtrail has brought Loners to our Camp, Onesky is trying to protect RainClan, and... I'm so worried!" Featherfoot hated admitting this weakness, but she all of her words had tumbled out at once, and Junipercloud could help, she was sure of it. She pressed her fur against his, her shaking slowly subsiding. "I think..." She took a deep breath, "I think the Clan needs our help."

Junipercloud, though gently so as not to harm his catch, set down the prey where he stood. Rubbing his fur against hers to comfort his beloved, and quickly pondered what next to do. Taking the most logical course, he flicked his tail towards the camp and began to run with his mate. It would be best to attack from behind, if he was to attack at all. Paws pounding against the turf, Junipercloud ran with Featherfoot to his camp’s entrance.
